The Financial Futures courses directly support Career and Technical Education(CTE) and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) programs by equipping students with the practical financial skills, decision-making abilities, and economic understanding essential for success in any postsecondary pathway.

The courses are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Personal Financial Literacy and Economics and strengthen students’ readiness in three key CCMR domains:

-
College Readiness: Students develop critical thinking, budgeting, and planning skills that prepare them to manage tuition costs, scholarships, and student aid. Lessons on credit, saving, and investing build a foundation for responsible financial independence throughout higher education.

-
Career Readiness: Through modules on earning income, entrepreneurship, and the relationship between education, training, and wages, students learn how to align their skills and interests with viable career paths and long-term financial goals.

-
Military Readiness: The course fosters self-discipline, accountability, and personal responsibility, which are key traits for service members, while teaching how to manage income, benefits, and financial obligations responsibly.

By combining economic understanding with real-world application, Financial Futures helps students make informed choices about their futures, empowering them to enter adulthood with confidence, competence, and a clear plan—whether they choose college, a career, or the military.
